Let's Talk About Private Equity: Starting a New Book Series

I’ve been reading a lot of books on finance lately. Most of them are either too simple or way too complicated for anyone who doesn’t have a PhD in math. But I found one that actually makes sense. It’s called “Introduction to Private Equity, Debt and Real Assets” by Cyril Demaria.

Private equity sounds like one of those things only people in fancy suits talk about. But it’s actually a huge part of how the world works. It’s how businesses get started, grow, and sometimes how they survive.

In this series, I’m going to break down this book chapter by chapter. I want to make it easy to understand for everyone. No crazy business jargon or boring academic talk. Just the real stuff about how money moves in the private markets.

We’ll talk about:

  • How private equity started (it’s older than you think)
  • Why it’s not just about “equity” anymore
  • How these funds actually make money
  • The ethical side of big money

I’ll be posting one part every day until we finish the book. If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of those big multi-billion dollar deals, stick around.

Next post: The real deal with private markets
